Kent House

This is a painting of Rockwell Kent's house on Monhegan Island, Maine. Rockwell Kent was an "Ashcan School" artist along with George Bellows and Edward Hopper. Kent's house was owned by Jamie Wyeth at the time of the painting. It is a beautiful location with the sea in the distance. This was painted on a warm October day. The Island colors are deep and rich. The painting evokes a sense of comfort.

The picture is in a private collection. There is a limited edition print of "The Kent House" available for collectors.
