Black Head, Monhegan
This is a pastel painting on sanded paper. It is one of several paintings in a series of paintings of "Blackhead" on Monhegan Island. It is a unique location. I wanted to create a deep sense of space by including the cliff in the foreground with the rocks jutting out in the middle ground. This allowed the "Blackhead" point to appear in the distance.
