Oaks' Bridge

This is an oil painting in a series of paintings of the bridge across the wading pool at the Oaks in Portland, Maine. It was painted completely on location. I love the idea of the bridge being a solid structure that does not move and change despite the different seasons. It is weathered, beaten, and used but remains solid and unwavering.

I also love the challenge of recording the brilliant Maine light moving over the trees and forms throughout the landscape.

This painting is available in high-quality prints of different sizes.
