Kettle Cove
This is an oil painting of Kettle Cove in Cape Elizabeth, Maine. It is a beautiful location along the Maine Coast. The entire painting was done by "Plein air" (painted entirely on location). I was attracted to the incredible Maine light falling on the landscape point as it juts out into the cove. The tree flourishes as it moves upward toward the sky. I also wanted to paint the great expanse of the Maine sky.
